What makes for a good sports watching experience? Being able to watch a game in person is often the best choice, but this is not often possible. Unless you have season tickets to your local team's games and have the spare time and cash to attend these games, you are likely to get most of your sports coverage from the television. Thankfully, all of the recent technological advances that have increased the quality of television, have also made watching sports on TV a lot more appealing. Watching a game on a small television with lousy reception is not much fun. But watching the same game on a 52 inch LCD screen with high definition and surround sound is a much different and more exciting experience. Even standard definition game coverage has gotten a lot better with more options for getting more games. No matter what sports you like, you are likely to find much better coverage and higher quality coverage than ever before.

The DVR offers many opportunities for watching programming that are beneficial for both the networks and the viewers. And the fact that people are so willing to step up to take control over their television viewing means that new interactive television technologies are likely to be well received.

The digital format also allowed for TV viewers to use an electronic program guide and other features that made watching television a lot easier. However, digital television also has other advantages including the ability to support extremely interactive TV. Recent years have seen the rise of many new TV technologies that allow users to get more out of their television time by controlling their experience. Among these new technologies are the new interactive channels and Dish On Demand.
